I'm trying to remember how young I was when a teacher first tried to teach me and my peers, in so many words, that there was overlap between the two sexes, that it was a mistake to divide boys and girls so clearly based on preferences, abilities, etc.

I don't know how much difference it would make in preventing young people from believing that all sex differences are socialized, but I think the earlier schools (and parents) teach kids the difference between correlation and causation, the better.
